Tragedis of Oedipus the King and Hamlet

When I study the classical literature, I cannot help thinking of Oedipus the King by Sophocles, even though I don't know much about the classical literature. When I learned about Oedipus the King, the story was quite shoking, and interesting, though it was hard for me to study it when I just got into the college. That's why I keep thinking of it and try to connect it with other literature works.

I would like to write the different tragedies between Oedipus the king and Hamlet briefly. As you know, both Oedipus the King and Hamlet are tragedies.

Oedipus the King by Sophocles is the conventions of Greek Tragedy, which represents the fatalistic point of the world. The Oedipus tries to escape from his settled fatal, but eventually, what he does is what God says. This is irony.

In contrast, Hamlet is the convention of character tragedy. Most of conflicts in Hamlet is due to each character’s character. For example, the reason why Hamlet doesn’t kill the King right after a ghost says is that he is not a decisive and thoughtful person. In Hamlet, you can find that not only Hamlet but other characters have also characteristic tragic factors.
